On Mother’s Day

My Mommy and Me, Summer 1973.

To all of the women who tried and couldn’t — I see you and love you.
To all of the women who tried and miscarried — I see you and love you.
To all of the women who never wanted a child — I see you and love you.
To all of the women who aborted because it’s not the right time or because of rape — I see you and love you.
To all the Moms whose children passed — I see you and love you.
To everyone who is estranged from their Moms — I see you and love you.
To all the Moms who are estranged from their children — I see you and love you.
To everyone whose Mother-in-law or Mom is combative and hateful — I see you and love you.
To everyone whose Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, or Friend have passed — I see you and love you.

To all the Moms out there — Happy Mother’s Day.
To all of the Fur-Moms out there — Happy Mother’s Day.

Be kind today. Some of us are mourning children that never were and Mom’s who are forever gone. Today is complicated.

I miss you, Mom. Thank you for everything. I’m sorry that I never gave you human grandkids. I tried, but I couldn’t physically conceive. I wish you knew that before you died.

Yup, today is complicated and difficult.
